Sawyer woke up with an incredible, amazing, world-changing idea — but all day he gets hyperfocused, distracted, & discouraged. When bedtime arrives he hasn’t done the one thing he set out to do, but realizes that he can celebrate his ideas in all their stages.

What an inventive, inspiring book with fun illustrations! SAWYER’S BIG IDEA is a joyous celebration about creating… anything! I know it encourages me to happily get working.

So many books about maker culture focus on the creative process, but they’re largely showing a linear process. Sawyer’s Big Idea really sheds light on a much needed other: the creative kid who spends their energy on alllllll the things. In an educational system that relies so heavily on the product, it is refreshing to recognize the process, and all the different ways that might look. This is a book I would definitely add to my teacher collection.
Goodreads Reviewer

Sawyer is brimming with ideas in his head and has many more unfinished projects in his room. He is curious, creative, and imaginative, like many children who think like him and see the world as a place filled with endless possibilities and opportunities.
